June 2011– Present
The diversity of Peak Engineering to meet all Fire Life Safety needs from structural, mechanical, elevator, means of egress, building material types, alternate means and water supplies to name a few, can create an environment of energy, which directed properly can provide for a synergistic approach to an overall projects success.
My role as providing administrative support and design includes that of software and hardware integration, maintenance of an ever expanding data base and the management of that very valuable asset of time.
Principal, Design Manager (Rocklin, California)
Systems Tech Inc.
August 1984– June 2012 (27 years 11 months)
As senior engineer with Systems Tech, I utilize the skills and many years of experience to oversee design, coordination and computer technology. My expertise in the field of fire protection engineering enables me to coordinate both the mechanical and fire protection elements of the projects that we are involved with.
My particular area of expertise is fire sprinkler systems. Fire sprinkler line and head placement is engineered after determining applicable code requirements, architectural features, structural limitations and occupancy classifications. He then performs hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate fire sprinkler coverage and water demand.
I have designed wet pipe, pre-action, Vortex, deluge, foam, dry pipe, exposure and rack systems. And have coordinated design efforts through BIM, using Navisworks and AutoCAD.
Throughout my years of service in the community, I have gained the respect of municipalities, water districts and fire departments when it comes to fire sprinkler engineering in the greater Sacramento area.

Summary
In more than 15 years in the fields of firefighting and fire safety engineering, I have both developed and depended upon fire protection systems to safeguard people and property around the world. Most recently, I have focused on the application and interpretation of building codes and developing performance based solutions to complex fire/life safety challenges. .
My projects have included major mixed-use hotel-casinos, theaters, high-rise buildings, public transportation centers and hospitals. Many of these projects involved special fire-safety issues such as atria and large assembly spaces. I have extensive experience in smoke control analysis and fire and egress modeling. Between my background as a shipboard fire fighter in the U.S. Navy and years of experience in commercial building, I have a unique set of tools to address both building and maritime fire safety challenges.
