Mark R. Mannex, P.E. is the Operations Chief Engineer for the Northwest United States for FM Global. With over 30 years of experience in fire protection, he is the main liaison between NW field operations and FM Global corporate Research. Prior to joining FM Global, Mark was a consulting engineer for fifteen years, and is a professional member of SFPE.

The Role of Testing and Certification in the Built Environment

Mark will discuss “Special Application In-Rack Sprinkler Schemes”, which includes new fire protection alternatives for high-piled rack storage recently developed by FM Global Research and now included in FM Global Data Sheet guidelines. These new schemes utilize modern large orifice storage sprinklers, are less expensive, and provide better fire protection than traditional arrangements.
